As part of the OAA’s ongoing commitment to professional standards and regulatory compliance, the Association will begin conducting regular audits for its Continuing Education (ConEd) Program, beginning with the current 2024–2026 Reporting Cycle. (You can learn more on the OAA Website).
In accordance with Section 3.2 of the ConEd Policy, a selection of 1 to 3% of OAA members will be audited to verify their compliance with the Structured Learning requirements. This process helps maintain the integrity of the profession and ensures members are meeting their obligations under the ConEd Program.
Members selected for auditing will be notified directly later this fall. They will be provided with instructions on submitting supporting documentation for specific entries in their ConEd transcript. In accordance with Section 3.12 of the ConEd Policy, all submitted documentation must clearly include:
- presentation/event title;
- total time and date of completion;
- member’s name; and
- provider’s name and contact information
Following recent system updates, members are no longer able to upload proof of attendance directly to their transcript via the ConEd portal. Supporting documentation must now be submitted separately to the OAA as part of this audit process, as outlined in the notice you will receive if you are selected.
Members chosen for audit will have 10 business days from the date of notification to submit the required documents. If additional time is needed, a written request for an extension may be submitted, with approval at the sole discretion of the OAA.
Your cooperation in maintaining high professional standards through your ongoing commitment to continuing education is appreciated.
This information was also shared with members and others who hold status via an emailed regulatory bulletin.
Please note: The OAA Continuing Education Program is mandatory for all members—that is, Architects and Licensed Technologists (including those who have assumed non-practising status). It was also emailed to Retired Members, and students and interns on the path to licensure, to keep them informed of the Association’s regulatory requirements and policies.
