Public Resources

Are you a student looking to explore a career in architecture? a professional from outside Canada, aiming to practise in Ontario? or an enthusiast looking to participate in more architecture-related activities?

The Public Resources page is a portal that makes it easy for anyone to learn more about how to get involved in the field of architecture, whether through formal education or events and initiatives in the community.

A formal education in architecture offers vast and varied career paths. Graduates might go on to work for an architectural firm, but they may also become building officials, building inspectors, in-house corporate design specialists, or builders in the construction industry; they may go into academia or become involved in land development, facility management, project management, interior design, or set design.

In addition to the links below, you can visit the OAA's Working with an Architect  page, which includes a directory of architectural practices, along with more information on when you need to hire an Architect and what OAA members do, as well as helpful background on contracts, qualifications-based selection (QBS), and design competitions.
