Non-Compliance with the ConEd Program
As of May 21, 2024, OAA Council voted to revise the administrative fees for OAA members who do not complete their mandatory Continuing Education hours or record them in the OAA’s online transcript before the end of the cycle. The single fee of $750 replaces the previous two-tiered fine structure (where first-time non-compliance and subsequent late times were $500 and $1000, respectively).
Continuing Education activities must be completed and entered into transcripts by 11:59 pm Eastern on June 30, 2024. Members who have remaining hours to complete (either Structured, Unstructured, or Climate Action learning) will receive notice from the OAA there are outstanding hours. Once the deadline passes, the member will still have access to their transcript and must complete the remaining hours to avoid further regulatory sanctions.
NOTE: Revisions to the Architects Act and its Regulation are currently underway, which will change the administration of non-compliance with the OAA Continuing Education program. Members affected by these changes (i.e. anyone non-compliant with the program requirements at the end of the 2022-2024 Cycle) will be notified of the changes immediately.
