Endorsed by Council, refreshed Practice Tips and a template provide guidance related to identifying and dealing with scope creep during a project and an overview of the Copyright Act.
Updates to Practice Tip PT.15 Consulting Contracts, Managing Changes, and Scope Creep and the Contract Change Form
Endorsed by Council in May 2025, the refreshed Practice Tips PT.15 Consulting Contracts, Managing Changes, and Scope Creep has been updated to refer to the OAA 2021 Contracts and CHOP version 3. The former “Agreed Change” form has been removed.
In parallel, the former “Agreed Change” form has been updated for clarity, renamed as “OAA Standard Extra Services or Contract Change Form,” and is now only available as a standalone document rather than also being an attachment to PT.15. The template is meant to be customized to suit project requirements while maintaining the distinctions between Basic, Additional, and Extra services.
Updates to Practice Tip PT. 28 on the Copyright Act

It has been updated to highlight the change in the term (duration) of copyright protection and to refer to the OAA 2021 contract suite.
