The
City of Toronto has launched a two-stage international design competition for a new landmark
community recreation facility at Ramsden Park. This initiative invites design teams globally to envision a vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming destination. The competition underscores the City’s commitment to design excellence and sustainability, aligning with the Toronto Green Standards and the TransformTO Net Zero Strategy.
The competition process begins with Stage One, a
Request for Supplier Qualifications (RFSQ). An Evaluation Committee will review submissions and shortlist up to five of the highest-rated design teams. In Stage Two, these pre-qualified teams will be invited to submit conceptual designs through a Request for Proposal (RFP). A jury of design professionals and community advisors will select the winning design after a public feedback period.
The facility will strengthen civic life through forward-thinking design, deliver key amenities to meet the needs of a growing city, and showcase Toronto’s diverse community.
National and international design teams led by an Architect licensed with the Ontario Association of Architects are invited to apply through the
Toronto Bids Portal. An optional virtual information session will be held on
October 2, 2025. The application deadline is
October 31, 2025, at noon.
