Overcoming Legal Risks in Disputes in Using BIM: OAA Webinar

The new legal and contractual risks, obligations, and liabilities brought on by using building information modelling (BIM) are often ignored, leading to expensive misunderstandings. What are the common causes of disputes and how do you avoid them? Are you giving up copyright in the 3D models and electronic data you produce? What should a BIM-supportive contract contain? In this webinar, held on Thursday, January 13, BIM legal specialist May Winfield (Global Director of Commercial, Legal, and Digital Risks at Buro Happold) provides guidance on reducing and avoiding common risks, legal issues, and obstacles in this area.

On Thursday, January 20, the OAA will host one of the courses that fulfil the mandatory requirement for education related to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Tana Turner will discuss “The Business Case for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion,” reviewing demographic and social trends to challenge OAA members both as both employers and as practitioners.

Both events are part of the OAA Continuing Education Webinar Series, which offers live closed-captioning and was created to expand learning opportunities to help Architects and Licensed Technologists OAA meet their ConEd Program requirements before end of cycle on June 30.
