Mohsen Youssef Boctor, Architect
1955 — November 11, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Mohsen Youssef Boctor on Monday November 11, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 68.
He was the beloved husband of Nadia Lebar Boctor for 29 years, and a loving father to Nout Boctor-Smith, Joseph Boctor, Daniel Boctor, and Luke Boctor, all of whom he loved and adored with all of his heart. They were his pride and joy. We will always remember him relishing his role as a family man, and his utmost joy during our summers together at Rice Lake.
Mohsen was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1955 to his late parents Joseph Hanna Boctor and Nabila Farid Abdullah. He graduated with Honors from Cairo University with a Bachelor’s in Architecture. Since then, his journey has spanned five continents, and he has contributed significantly to architectural excellence both in Canada and abroad. He was passionate about the intersection of architecture and music, and pursued esoteric studies in search of truth and transformation. He has had a lasting impact on so many people.
He is survived by his four children, wife, sister Nadine Boctor, and his many family members both in Canada and in Egypt, including Hager El Hadidi (mother of Nout), son-in-law Wesley Smith, parents-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, his niece and nephew, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A special thank you to his neighbour, the paramedics, and to the amazing staff at St. Michaels Hospital, all of whom went above and beyond in their attempts to save his life.
Rest in eternal peace, beloved Mohsen. We will love you forever.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or to St Michaels Hospital, Toronto, Ontario.
