Construction Act Consultation Now Open: Participate by September 24
On August 25, 2025, the Province posted a discussion paper and draft regulations related to the Ontario Construction Act on the Ontario Regulatory Registry. This marks an important opportunity for architectural professionals to engage with proposed legislative changes that may impact practice.
The OAA is preparing a collective response to the consultation through its involvement with the Construction and Design Alliance of Ontario (CDAO), ensuring the architectural profession’s voice is heard.
The OAA is currently awaiting the finalized Regulations for the Construction Act. Once released, updates will be made to relevant resources, including the Practice Tip PT.10.0 series, which provides guidance on navigating the Construction Act in day-to-day practice.
OAA members interested in reviewing the proposed regulations or submitting feedback are encouraged to visit the official consultation page. The deadline is September 24, 2025.
