Building with Light

‘Building with Light’ is a discussion that explores the ways in which architects, artists and designers use lighting to create and transform space.

There is great potential for architects to build with light spatially, socially and relationally. How can light have a significant architectural presence in the city’s built environment and public realm? How can light be used to navigate space and darkness? How can light influence our experience of wellbeing and sense of security? How can light create a sense of wonder and infuse the poetic in everyday life?

This online panel talk will feature input from recognized architects, artists and designers on how light can be used to create meaningful and memorable spaces.

A certificate for 1 hour of OAA ConEd will be issued to registered attendees who request it with their RSVP for the event and attend the event.

‘Building with Light’ is organized by DesignTO and supported by the Ontario Association of Architects, with media partner AZURE Magazine.DesignTO brings people together to design a better future, one that is more sustainable, just, and joyful. We curate exhibitions, presentations and educational programming to increase the public’s knowledge and appreciation of design, and hope to embolden all Canadians to participate in making a future where people and planet are thriving again.
