Archi·North is the McEwen School of Architecture’s in-person summer camp program.
Curious about a career in architecture? Want to learn more about how the world around you gets designed and built? Interested in a unique pre-university academic experience in Northern Ontario? Archi·North is an opportunity to expand your horizons at Canada’s newest school of architecture.
With instruction from faculty and recent graduates in English- or French-language sessions, Archi·North is proud to offer a one-of-a-kind introductory experience in architecture, design, drafting and drawing to high school students. Open to students who are entering into Grades 11 or 12 in September 2024, Archi·North consists of English- or French-language 5-day sessions at the MSoA’s award-winning campus. Each week-long session consists of activities and instruction guided by faculty and recent graduates, with the goal of a broad introduction into the architectural process and design thinking in an academic environment.
Archi·North participants will have access to the MSoA’s extensive facilities for activities ranging from instruction in drafting and drawing, architectural design, physical modelmaking, and digital software. At the end of every session, students will prepare an exhibition of the week’s work for viewing by family and the community.
As a part of the first bilingual architecture school in Canada, Archi·North is dedicated to offering an unconventional pre-university experience that challenges participants to exercise new ways of seeing – and re-imagining – the world around them.
