The City of London has re-initiated an Official Plan Review of The London Plan under Section 26 of the Planning Act as a phased project with at least two phases following Council’s endorsement of recommendations presented in a staff report to the Planning and Environment Committee on March 19, 2024.
The first phase, which is currently underway, includes a Land Needs Assessment and associated amendments to The London Plan. The assessments include housekeeping changes that reference the planning horizon and redesignations of industrial sites to non-industrial Place Types.
A subsequent phase will include a conformity review of other city-wide policies to be initiated following provincial approval of a new Provincial Planning Statement policy framework. Through the review, staff may determine additional policy matters to be considered, reviewed and amended.
The City of London will be hosting a Community Information Meeting to provide an update for the Official Plan Review and Land Needs Assessment. This update is being offered in advance of a report to Planning and Environment Committee. This meeting will include a presentation and staff will be available to answer questions related to the ongoing project. Please note, the presentation will begin shortly after the scheduled meeting start time.
Join on Wednesday, May 29 from 7-9 p.m. for a community information meeting for an update on the Official Plan Review and Land Needs Assessment.
