5468796 is a Winnipeg-based studio established in 2007 by Johanna Hurme and Sasa Radolovic. Alongside a broad range of projects including urban interventions as well as residential and commercial buildings, the studio is committed to civic engagement and is constantly searching for different ways to work with local government.
Current projects include:
- Pumphouse, two mixed-use buildings connected through Winnipeg’s Historic Pumping Station, which will house rental apartment units and commercial spaces.
- Beacon, a commercial building in Calgary featuring three health clinics naturally lit through a multi-level lightwell.
- 90 Alexander, a new seven-story building surrounding one of the last remaining brick structures on Winnipeg’s Waterfront Drive, a former rail line.
The conversation will be moderated by Aaron Betsky, Director of the School of Architecture + Design at Virginia Tech and a design critic and author.
