Sign up for Stepping Stones, a free, two-day workshop for Black students in Toronto interested in architecture, interior design, and urban planning!
Hosted by Black Architects and Interior Designers Association Canada (BAIDA) and Urban Minds, Stepping Stones is open to Black students in grade 9-12 studying at TDSB schools.
What you'll do and learn at Stepping Stones:
- Find out more about post-secondary education and career paths in architecture, interior design, and urban planning
- Receive mentorship and guidance from industry professionals on course selection, university/college admissions, and portfolio development
- Participate in fun, creative activities that will help you learn more about design and the environment around us
- Have deep, engaging conversations with peers and mentors about creating inclusive and equitable spaces and communities
Stepping Stones will take place on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12, both from 10 AM to 4 PM at Toronto Metropolitan University's Architecture Building (325 Church St, Toronto, ON M5B 2M2).
All participants will be eligible to gain up to 12 community service hours through participating in this workshop! Free lunch and transit reimbursements will be provided on both days.
The last day to sign up is Thursday, November 9. The program will accept 30 students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
