This June, the Lean Construction Institute of Canada (LCIC) will be hosting three days of virtual training. This training will begin on June 22 with two keynote presentations that have been organized in partnership with the Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI), who will be providing a similar virtual training opportunity. Following this, there will be two days of Lean-focused content on June 23 and 28.

The program will kick off on June 22 with two presentations shared with the Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI). Geoff Neumayr, CDO for the San Francisco International Airport Planning, Design & Construction Division and Chair of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), will give a presentation comparing progressive design-build and integrated project delivery. Following him is Bill Black, Chief Operating Officer of the Calgary Construction Association, returning to give a “where are we now?” follow-up presentation to his well-received keynote at the inaugural LCIC conference in 2016.

On June 23, Branden Kotyk from Victaulic will offer his insights on how to create marketable deliverables for your company. Takeaways include how to supercharge your output by combining Lean principles with the manufacturer’s mindset. Hal Macomber from Touchplan will explain how to use Proto Last Planner, a step before the Last Planner® System. The day ends with Group2’s Craig Webber highlighting how Lean can be implemented to promote continuous improvement in a variety of project dimensions.

The final day of LCIC programming on June 28 will start with two general contractors providing comparative insight on how using the Last Planner® System can provide different but successful results. Following this session will be Carla Ciepliski to review how Lean can deliver growth and a competitive advantage to anyone who uses it. Finally, various Communities of Practice leaders across the country will discuss how Lean has impacted their work life.
