This innovative workshop includes topics such as fundamental space planning and management vocabulary and concepts, and delves deeper into the fundamental policies, processes, practices, analytical tools, and database management concepts involved in developing and implementing a space management plan for academic, medical, and health science centres. As an additional benefit for attendees, a guided 3 hour tour of some of our state-of-the-art research laboratories and facilities will be included on December 2nd, 2016.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn about space planning and management;
- Learn how to incorporate safety requirements into space design;
- Discuss and determine the steps required to initiate a space management plan for academic medical and health science centers;
- Explore how to incorporate space planning into institutional strategic planning;
- Learn and discuss approaches to manage a major laboratory renovation or relocation;
