Session Abstract:
Manufacturers play a pivotal role in creating a carbon-neutral future, and with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), they can be positioned to meet increasing legislative requirements and sustainability goals for decarbonization in buildings. The 2024 Carbon Coalition Conference founded by KIRKOR Architects & Planners was centered around manufacturers, encouraging industry to evaluate their environmental impact through EPDs. “Know Your Impact” is a summary of the critical examination of the real challenges facing Industry manufacturers explored in detail during the event. The topics included, but were not limited to supply chain issues, costing, and data accuracy. Through the diverse, and unique perspectives from private and public sectors as well as industry manufacturers, holistic strategies for reducing embodied carbon in buildings is possible.
