Architect / Project Manager

We are looking for a project manager / OAA Architect, at $90-110k/yr, with experience in residential wood frame construction. They will manage multiple small-scale multi-unit residential projects, and coordinate a staff of juniors and co-ops, and . It is available immediately as a permanent position.

Craig Race Architecture Inc. is a sole proprietorship, focused on sustainable, custom residential architecture. Our work is adventurous and contemporary in style. We specialize in unique urban infill projects, including laneway houses, custom homes, multiplexes, and small midrise apartment buildings.  The practice is located in downtown Toronto, with projects across southern Ontario.

Our ideal applicant has been a licensed architect for a minimum of 5 years, managing and designing small and medium scale residential projects. Experience with sustainable building enclosures, minor variance approvals, multi-unit and custom home construction, office management, and drafting infrastructure/standards will be highly valued. They will report directly to the principal architect, collaborate with fellow project managers, and manage intern architects and co-op students. They will be expected to oversee multiple active projects in varying stages of design, approvals, and construction.

 

Qualifications

  • Licensed OAA Architect

  • Min. 5 years experience managing small / medium scale residential projects 

  • AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, part 9 and 3

  • Extensive knowledge of Toronto’s residential zoning bylaws

  • Strong management and collaboration skills

  • An entrepreneurial spirit

  • Excellent organization, teamwork, time management, and communication skills

 

Responsibilities

  • Full-time work week, from our office

  • Management of projects, clients, and staff

  • Coordination of consultants and approvals

  • Compliance with and development of internal office production standards and infrastructure

 

Assets

  • LEED accreditation

  • Passive House accreditation

  • Experience with multiplexes and laneway/garden suites

 

Compensation

  • $90-110k, commensurate with experience
