Ontario’s architects have taken notice of Strathroy’s old post office.

Strathroy’s old post office recognized for World Architecture Day

The building, which now hosts a restaurant and inn, was selected for the annual Queen’s Park Picks, a program run by the Ontario Association of Architects in collaboration with MPPs across the province.

The old post office and customs house was one of nine buildings chosen this year.

Monte McNaughton nominated the downtown building before announcing he would step down as MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex last month.

A news release from the OAA said the building “holds a special place in both the hearts of the locals and Canadian architectural history.
