It’s that time of year again! Get ready to submit designs for Winter Stations. The deadline for the annual, single-stage international design competition is December 1.
Participants are tasked with designing temporary winter art installations which incorporate existing lifeguard towers on Kew and Woodbine beaches in Toronto.
The competition is a way to bring people to the beach in the winter months and to use the lifeguard structures as visual anchor points for the installations. Winter Stations intends to build four to six winning proposals for a six-week exhibition along the waterfront. The theme for 2024 is resonance, celebrating a decade of Winter Stations.
The competition is open to everyone in the world and there is no fee to enter.
