Announcing Public Awareness Sponsorship Recipients

Next Deadline for Submissions is July 24

Twice a year, the OAA’s Public Awareness Sponsorship program distributes funding to help applicants carry out projects or events that fulfil the Architects Act’s object of “promoting public appreciation of architecture and the allied arts and sciences.” At its meeting last month, the Association’s Communications and Public Education Committee (CPEC) agreed to fund the following initiatives:

-Urban Minds’ 1UP Toronto Conference 2023;
-Society of South Asian Architects, Canada’s (SOSA’s) website development;
-Moses Structural Engineers’ TimberFever;
-Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism’s (CR|PT|C) Agora II (Un)Common Precedents International Symposium;
-Lawrence Heights Art Centre’s Garden Expo;
-Quan Thai’s research on the DesignTO exhibition, "Ontario Place: Narrating Past, Present, and Potential";
-Laurentian University’s McEwen School of Architecture’s The Telegraph publication;
-Muslims in Public Space’s Paradise City: Islamic Garden; and
-Heritage Toronto’s Architectural Heritage Tours.

The second and final deadline for 2023 for this program is July 24.
