The Canadian Wood Council has announced the winners of the 40th annual Wood Design & Building Awards, highlighting exceptional achievements in wood design and construction worldwide. The prestigious program celebrates architectural innovation with a focus on sustainable, high-performance wood materials.
This year, 19 projects were recognized, reflecting a growing interest in biomaterials. For the first time, regional WoodWorks awards from Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta were incorporated, with each region contributing five winning projects, showcasing the creativity and diversity of wood designs. In total, 33 projects were honoured at the Wood Design and Building Awards celebration during the WoodWorks Summit on October 22, underscoring wood's vital role in transforming the built environment.
