SHIFT is an aspirational, biennial awards program that highlights the distinct contribution the architecture profession brings to addressing key societal issues. It invites OAA members, those on the path to licensure, and their teams to respond to an identified area of concern using their unique skills and insights. The theme for this year is human health. At scales ranging from a room to a building to an entire city (or beyond), how can new architectural approaches offer better health outcomes?
A special jury—revealed next week—will review submissions in February before making its selections for top projects.
You can watch the OAA’s special event co-presented with the Toronto Society of Architects, “SHIFT2019: Eleven Ideas on Infrastructure,” on YouTube.
