The provincial government has opened a public consultation to allow people to share their views on plans to redevelop Ontario Place. Members who are interested in participating can do so before October 28. Click here to learn more.
In 2019, prior to the current plans being shared, the OAA wrote to the Honourable Michael Tibollo, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport to discuss the proposed revitalization; you can read this letter here.
Designed by Toronto architect Eberhard Zeidler, Ontario Place has previously been a Queen’s Park Pick and is also the focus of a selected submission for the SHIFT2021 Resiliency/Architecture Challenge (which will be further explored in a special SHIFT event later this fall). Its Cinesphere and Pods were recipients of the 2017 Prix du XXe siècle, from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada(RAIC) in partnership with The National Trust for Canada, for their enduring excellence and national significance to Canada’s architectural legacy.
