OAA Council sets policy direction for the Association, guided by a five-year Strategic Plan. Comprising architects elected by the membership and representatives of the public appointed by the provincial government, it makes critical decisions regarding the future of the profession that directly, tangibly affect practices and individual careers.
Elections will be held next month for five seats on the OAA’s governing Council (Eastern Ontario, City of Toronto, and Province of Ontario). Those eligible are encouraged to nominate a peer or put forth themselves as candidates to represent the public interest.
Nomination forms were sent on October 2, and the elections process occurs using a dedicated online system. Over the summer, a Regulatory Notice shared information about Councillor roles and responsibilities, as well as how to participate.
