The OAA’s 135th Annual General Meeting of Members (AGM) was held as a virtual event on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
The
Zoom meeting began with a listing of newly licensed OAA members; you
can read the names of these Architects and Licensed Technologists on the
OAA Website. To see the agenda for the AGM, along with various related

The event was hosted by OAA President Ted
Wilson and Executive Director Kristi Doyle, and included reports from
the Pro-Demnity Insurance Company Board of Directors Chair Debra Krakow,
OAA Immediate Past President Settimo Vilardi, and OAA Senior Vice
President & Treasurer Lara McKendrick.
Ted’s 2025
Presidential Address can be read on the OAA Website, and the entirety of
the AGM can be viewed on the OAA YouTube channel.
During the
event, members were able to vote virtually. Among the motions that
passed was the appointment of Ted Kesik, a professor of building science
in the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at
the University of Toronto, as the Association’s latest Honorary Member.
Former Councillors Christina Karney and Greg Redden were also honoured
for their contributions. These individuals will also be highlighted at
the Closing Plenary as part of this year’s OAA Conference in Ottawa.
Additionally,
the AGM included brief tributes to the newest Members of Long
Standing—individuals who have been with the OAA for more than 50 years:
- Charles G. Bunker;
- Alexsandar Milenov;
- Denis G. Rioux;
- Joseph Somfay;
- Peter F. Turner; and
- Slobodan Vlahovich.
