The
Holcim Foundation Awards, an international competition for sustainable design, is now accepting entries.
The event, which offers a US$1 million total prize, seeks late-stage design projects across all scales, with client support, to compete for recognition across five regions: Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East & Africa, and North America. Eligible projects include those under construction, provided they remain incomplete until
February 11, 2025.
The entry window is now open until
February 11, 2025, with the Awards Ceremony set to take place at the Holcim Foundation’s Venice Forum event on
November 20, 2025.
Renowned architects, engineers, and urban planners chair the regional juries:
Sou Fujimoto (Asia Pacific),
Kjetil Thorsen (Europe),
Sandra Barclay (Latin America),
Lina Ghotmeh (Middle East and Africa), and
Jeanne Gang (North America). They will evaluate submissions based on their alignment with the Foundation's sustainable construction goals like uplifting places and thriving communities. Each region will award US$200,000, split among four winning projects, with an additional US$40,000 special recognition prize handed out to one standout entry.
