Heritage Toronto is set to host its 49th Annual Heritage Toronto Awards on
Monday, October 28, celebrating outstanding contributions in the heritage sector. The event is set to showcase achievements in such categories as Book, Built Heritage, and Public History, including a People’s Choice Award.
The 2024 Built Heritage Awards aim to recognize outstanding contributions to the conservation and adaptation of historic properties throughout Toronto. This year’s nominees showcase the dedication of building owners and project teams that have undertaken projects to conserve or adapt a historic property or architectural feature through outstanding craftsmanship.
The awards feature three categories:
Adaptive Reuse, recognizing projects that adapt structures for modern needs while preserving their original design;
Heritage Planning & Architecture, which recognizes the successful application of appropriate conservation and planning principles; and
Crafts and Trades, celebrating exceptional craftsmanship and the use of compatible construction techniques.
