The annual OAA Conference brings together members of the province’s architecture profession for three days of learning, networking, and celebrating. Now, we need your input as we plan for future events.
Next year’s Conference, Reshaping Communities, will be held in Ottawa in May, with registration opening in March. It will feature an exciting array of experts in classroom and experiential learning settings, offering new conversations about how places shape people’s behavior, and how our built environment can effectively respond to and reflect societal changes.
The Conference itself continues to evolve to meet both changing times and changing needs of OAA members. Planning has already begun for the 2026 event in Waterloo, with the Association looking for your insight and perspective as it plots the path forward for this important initiative.
Envisioned as a service to the membership, the Conference is generally subsidized by the Association (and bolstered by invaluable support from industry sponsors) to keep registration as low as possible. It offers unique educational and social opportunities with world-class speakers and special events that honour the work of Ontario practices. However, the Association recognizes the increased prevalence of webinars for virtual learning and smaller-scale in-person local events, as well as the critical importance that programming must remain accessible to all.
The OAA is keen to re-examine all aspects of its Conference and consider how it can be improved to continue meeting your needs. This begins with a simple survey to better understand your thoughts—whether you are a frequent Conference attendee, an occasional participant, or have never been before!
