Construction stakeholders get set for Pride Month

It’s Pride Month in Ontario and construction industry associations and groups are getting ready to celebrate the 2SLGBTQI+ community and learn how to be good allies.

“Several of the representatives from our ERG, which goes by PEACE (Proud Employees for Allyship, Community and Education), will also be attending industry specific (and adjacent) events to extend our network within the existing LGBTQ2S+ network so that we can learn how best we can help to create safe and inclusive spaces wherever we can – but especially in our industry,” said Rory Smith, marketing manager with EllisDon Tech and Digital, in an email to the Daily Commercial News.

“Each of our respective offices have different events planned, including initiatives such as lunch and learns and guest speaker sessions on topics such as Power and Privilege and Gender and Sexuality,” said Shane Jones, media relations, PCL Constructors. “Celebrations are planned with music and prize draws and giveaways provided by local LGBTQ+ businesses/events.”
