Changes to Building Code Fees

On January 1, 2023, new Ontario Building Code related service fee increases come into effect. Provisions in the Building Code require fees for the following:

  • registration for building practitioners;
  • Building Code Commission applications;
  • Minister’s Rulings applications for authorizing use of innovative products;
  • Building Materials Evaluation Commission applications.

The fees help ensure the financial sustainability of these services and offset Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing administrative costs.

To see the costs, as reported in CodeNews, check out the article on the OAA Website.
