Announcing Recipients of the Public Awareness Sponsorship Program

Twice a year, the OAA’s Public Awareness Sponsorship program distributes funding to help applicants carry out projects or events that fulfil the Architects Act’s object of “promoting public appreciation of architecture and the allied arts and sciences.” Adding to a list of recipients from the spring, the Communications and Public Education Committee (CPEC) has agreed to fund the following additional applicants:

 

  • Urban Minds Planning and Design Studio for 1Up School Chapters;
  • Architecture Conservancy of Ontario – Toronto for “Quantifying Demolition Waste in Ontario” and the Heritage and Housing Symposium;
  • Black Architects and Interior Designers Association (BAIDA) Stepping Stones program;
  • Cobalt Connects Creativity’s Winterfest POP;
  • McEwen School of Architecture’s Terrance Galvin for Ontario Roadmaps to Equity, Social Value, and Environmental Sustainability;
  • Society of South Asian Architects (SOSA) for its Suit Up Series (with JVS) and Women in Leadership program (with the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada [RAIC]);
  • architect Toon Dreessen for Reform Procurement Ottawa;
  • Geomodulus for its Architecture 360 Series; and
  • Waterloo University’s School of Architecture for its Projects Review and Racial Equity and Environmental Justice (REEJ) events.
The next deadline for submissions is January 29, 2024.
