The University of Waterloo's School of Architecture welcomes Elena Tudela for a lecture on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 6:00pm.
Elena Tudela holds a degree in Architecture from the Facultad de Arquitectura at UNAM, a master’s degree in Architecture in Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and she is a PhD Candidate in Architecture at UNAM. She coordinated the urban design of Hydric Park Quebradora in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, that received the 2017 Regional Gold award, and the 2018 Global Gold from Lafarge Holcim Sustainable Awards. She is an associate professor at the Facultad de Arquitectura UNAM, and co-founder of the Office of Urban Resilience ORU, recently awarded Emerging Voice for the Architectural League of NY 2023. She co-curated Mexico’s National Pavilion “Displacements” at the 17th Architecture International Exhibition Biennale di Venezia 2021. She is a member of the Advisory Council for Public Space, and the Resilience Council of Mexico City, and is part of the National System of Art Creators for Mexico’s Ministry of Culture.
