Local architect John MacDonald invites the community on a walk around downtown to learn about the history of architectural towers, the glass and concrete structures that are rapidly altering Kitchener's skyline, and the factors that govern their design. The accessible 2.5 km route will meander around the downtown core, with stops at some recently built projects, as well as sites for proposed towers. Along the way, John will also discuss the emerging phenomenon in the downtown core, and what he believes it means for our community. The walk is expected to last approximately one and a half hours, with ample time for exchange and discussion.
