Yonge-Dundas Square has an elaborate system of stakeholders that is specific to its history, location, and function. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the public space designed by Brown + Storey Architects is described as “an urban savanna, poised as an exchange between the frenetic jungle of city life and the gravity and richness of urban civility.” This exhibition examines the people and groups who shape the square, and asks: How do people impact public space? Is there more to Yonge-Dundas Square than meets the eye?
This exhibition is curated and created by the 2022-2023 Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Justice Gallery Committee comprised of undergraduate DAS students. \
