Exhibition Opening: On the Ground + On the Walls

Join TMU for their exhibition opening, On the Ground + On the Walls, on Thursday, October 5th from 6:30 - 8:00PM!

This exhibition examines the people and groups who shape Yonge-Dundas Square (YDS). By exploring the motivations of the Actors and Stakeholders of YDS, the exhibition attempts to reveal the dynamics between public and private, people and institutions, space and community.

The title and design of the exhibition refer the the ground plane and the perimeter of Yonge-Dundas Square. The horizontal and vertical elements symbolize the architectural dialogue between the ground and the walls, and the flexibility within. 'Stakeholders' refers to the groups and decision makers who impact the physical form of YDS, and define its boundaries. 'Actors' are those who impact the space on a daily basis, animating the ground through activity and movement.

This exhibition is curated and created by the 2022-2023 Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Justice Gallery Committee comprised of undergraduate DAS students.
