An in-person architect led, walking tour of the historic former Niagara Parks Power Station located across the Canadian border in Ontario, Canada.

 

Learning Objectives

1. Introductory exploration of the building’s context as an industrial power supplier turned museum.

2. Intermediate demonstration of the entire project’s historic restoration process and its impact on the final program.

3. Advanced discussion on the design decision making process behind the final material selections and their impact on visitors.

4. Intermediate discussion on both design and construction phasing lessons learned for the project from the project architect guided tour.
