Join the filmmaker, installation artist and poet P. Staff for this MVS Proseminar talk held in conjunction with the Daniels Faculty's Winter 2024 Public Program. P. Staff's interdisciplinary practice explores necropolitics, affect theory, the transpoetics of writers, modern dance, astrology and end-of-life care to emphasize the processes by which bodies––especially those of people who are queer, trans or disabled––are interpreted, regulated and disciplined in a rigorously controlled society.
Born in England in 1987, interdisciplinary artist P. Staff lives and works in Los Angeles and London. Select solo exhibitions have been held at Kunsthalle Basel in 2023, at Commonwealth and Council in Los Angeles in 2022 and 2018, and at Serpentine Galleries in London in 2019. Staff is in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, LUMA Arles, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Julia Stoschek Foundation in Düsseldorf.
This event is part of the Daniels Faculty's Winter 2024 Public Program. All of the events in this program are free and open to the public. Events will be livestreamed and available to view on the Daniels Faculty’s YouTube channel.
