LSA Lecture Series: Ian Ellingham - The Pursuit of Evidence Based Design

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Ian Ellingham, BArch, MBA, PhD, OAA, PLE, FRAIC
Ian has a diverse and impressive background that spans both academia and professional practice in architecture and development management. After completing his undergraduate degree in architecture at Carleton University, he gained experience working for a developer in Niagara before pursuing an MBA at Western University. His interest in social housing led him to be heavily involved in creating such projects, particularly in southwest Ontario. His academic pursuits continued as he pursued a Master of Philosophy in Land Economy at Cambridge University, followed by a PhD focusing on aging processes in housing stock in the East of England. This led him to contribute significantly to the field through his involvement with research groups like the Cambridge Architectural Research and various projects funded by government ministries and private sector initiatives. Ian's contributions extend beyond academia, as evidenced by his roles as the chair of OAA Perspectives magazine and his involvement in creating The Right Angle Journal. His extensive publishing record, which includes four books and over a hundred published papers, demonstrates his expertise across academic, professional, and popular domains in architecture and housing.
