DesignTO - Miniseum

Window installations are viewable 24 hours a day from outdoors.

‘MINISEUM’ by Haiqa Nisar and Jacqueline Hampshire celebrates the essential tool of any spatial designer: the scale model. The idea was born from a love of exploring design through analog means. Models are both a representative tool and a workshop to test ideas. They create a new way of looking at the familiar.

Drawing on print material from Issues Magazine shop, ‘MINISEUM’ is a curated exhibition that invites passersby to pause and look closely. The installation embraces a near-universal nostalgia for miniatures and encourages a sense of wonder.

Haiqa and Jacqueline are both trained in architecture and work together as exhibit designers at a Toronto-based exhibit design firm. Outside of work, they engage with a variety of mediums, including printmaking, ceramics and casting.
