The Ontario BIA Association (OBIAA) has worked with the Government of Ontario to help BIAs and their business members understand and comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). OBIAA is very pleased to announce its newest accessibility initiative - Accessing Our Heritage.
Accessing Our Heritage will focus on increasing the accessibility of Ontario's heritage buildings, spaces, and main streets. A conference for built-environment professionals will be held on October 20, 2021, to discuss how to remove barriers to making heritage buildings and spaces more accessible.
This very special event will bring together experts in both Heritage and Accessibility and will address the following topics:
1. A panel discussion - How can, and do, ‘accessibility’ and ‘heritage’ work together?
2. Breakout Sessions
a. The Business Case for Accessibility
b. The Next Generation: Training Gaps and Opportunities
c. Getting to Yes with the Right Communication
d. Accessibility Solutions for Heritage Buildings
3. Presentations
Please join us in this incredible conversation on October 20, from 12 to 5pm ET. A full program is attached for your reference and more information can be found at https://obiaa.com/projects/accessing-our-heritage-conference/
