Implementing Low-Carbon Concrete on Your Projects

Hosted by Concrete Council of Canada

1 ConEd Learning Hour

12: 30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Concrete is the most used construction material in the world and significant carbon reductions are
available to those who utilize performance-based specifications. This presentation will highlight the
direct actions you can take to reduce the carbon impacts of cement, ready-mix, precast, and masonry.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand how concrete carbon intensity is calculated
  2. Understand how the actual carbon intensity of the concrete is quantified on your project.
  3. Identify how to make carbon reductions a performance requirement in your specifications.
  4. Demonstrate real-world carbon reductions with completed projects.
