Based on the experiences of Reform Procurement Ottawa, this session will provide an outline for how local grassroots advocacy can be organized to tackle complex issues and create a framework for multidisciplinary public awareness of a single issue that is of importance to the profession.
Learning Objectives
1. Learn how to build a grassroots organization and establish funding.
2. Understand the core issues of procurement and rely on case studies/examples.
3. Learn how to create public support for procurement reform.
4. Understand how to engage in political advocacy to effect change.

Toon Dreessen is a graduate of Carleton University, served as OAA President (2015 and 2016), and was inducted into the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) College of Fellows and the OAA Order of da Vinci.
