This course aims to equip architects with the knowledge to incorporate building information modelling (BIM)-connected Energy Evaluation into their projects. The Architect can perform simple steps to optimize the building performance.
Learning Objectives
- Learn how energy evaluation is an effective tool for architects to inform clients about the sustainability, resilience, and efficiency of their designs.
- Discover how design software helps the architecture profession make informed decisions about key design elements by optimizing building energy performance during the initial stages of design.
- Understand how to set up the model for energy evaluation then optimize it, including wall, roof, and floor assemblies, orientation, window placement, and shading based on the results of the evaluation.
- Create more functional and effective spaces that meet the needs of their clients while simultaneously targeting reduced energy loads and environmental impacts
