This session will address thermal bridging in exterior wall assemblies, with emphasis on code changes in the new 2020 National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB). The new NECB makes addressing thermal bridges mandatory in all buildings when calculating U-value for all wall assemblies.
Learning Objectives
- Review new energy code requirements and path toward mandatory zero energy, ready for all new buildings by 2032.
- Explore the impact of thermal bridges on assembly U-value.
- Learn about the thermal bridge solutions and design guides.
- View the New Owens Corning Thermafiber RainBarrier ci High Compressive mineral wool insulations, Fiberglass Next Gen, and Foamular NXG.
