Wood WORKS! is a Canadian Wood Council program, which is industry led and is intended to influence system actors to increase the use of wood in non-residential, mid-rise (mixed-use, multifamily), low-rise commercial, bridge and tall building markets in Canada. The initiative seeks to build proficiency among these actors in using wood and creating an enabling environment for wood use through education, training, networking, communication and direct technical support. The program is guided by one national and several regional/provincial steering committees and reports back to CWC's Board. The program is delivered through a combination of strategic sector development and educational initiatives and project-by-project technical support. The tested formula has been shown to be an appropriate and effective approach for Wood WORKS! to develop new market opportunities for the Canadian structural wood industry.
