TIME: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Mark your calendars! On April 18 at 1 pm, the OAA kicks off registration for its annual Conference with a special FREE virtual Keynote to set the stage for this year's theme, Designing for Dignity.
Motivational speaker, disability advocate, and author Spencer West engages global audiences in documentaries, from concert stages, and through social media where he posts about the disability justice movement and shares his personal experiences navigating a world set against those with disabilities.
After losing both legs from the pelvis down at the age of five, Spencer has tackled numerous challenges—including summiting Mount Kilimanjaro using his hands and wheelchair. In this online “fireside chat,” he will speak about overcoming adversity, the community capabilities of social media, and his own experiences with the built environment. This conversation promises important insights and considerations for those who shape the built environment for our communities.
Register for the free Keynote, which offers 1.0 hours of Structured Learning for OAA members, by visiting the OAA Website. Immediately following the virtual event, registration will open for the OAA Conference.
The OAA thanks Brampton Brick for sponsoring this year’s Keynote event.
