Session Abstract:
The purpose of this seminar is to explain to new (and maybe not so new) architects what commissioning (Cx) is fundamentally about. This presentation will explain the evolution of Cx from its humble beginnings to why it is now a vital part of any successful project. The Cx process will be outlined, typical terms will be explained, the importance of scheduling will be discussed and most importantly, the role of the architect will be reviewed. At the conclusion of this discussion attendees will be equipped with the fundamental knowledge needed to embrace Cx in their projects and to more efficiently deliver a successful facility to their clients.
Learning Outcomes:
• Attendees will understand the importance of Cx for their projects.
• Terms, concepts and methodologies will be reviewed.
• Scheduling and budgeting will be discussed.
• Roles that are particularly important for the architect will be reviewed.
