Wind Design for Modular Vegetated Roof Assemblies

TIME: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET

In this webinar, participants will learn basic wind science and wind effects on roofing systems. We will define vegetated roof assembly (VRA) as a combination of roofing system (RS) and vegetated system (VS) and introduce the concept of “weakest link” in wind failure. We will discuss CSA A123.24-15 Standard Test Method for the Wind Resistance of Modular Vegetated Roof Assembly and how to measure wind uplift resistance and wind flow resistance of VRA, completed with videos showing how VRA behave during wind testing. Finally, participants will learn how to use CSA A123.24 in the wind design process of VRA.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Understand wind effects on roofing and vegetated systems.
2. Recognize governing factors of wind resistance for modular vegetated roof assembly (MVRA).
3. Test for wind uplift resistance and wind flow resistance of MVRA.
4. Apply CSA A123.24 in wind design process for MVRA.
