TIME: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EST
A webinar on planning for elevators in the preliminary design phases of an architectural project.
The vertical transportation system is a crucial element in the efficient operation of a building and for the experience and comfort of building occupants. Elevators play a particularly important role in high rise buildings and in ensuring accessibility for all users — and when considered from the very beginning can become part of the design character of the building.
Join in for this one hour webinar as Martin Ouimet, Senior Associate and General Manager of KJA Consultants Inc., take us through high-level planning for elevators in the early design phases of a project. We will look at how to determine the dimensional requirements for elevators, the differences between elevator types, and understand general trends in the industry. Fundamental approaches to analyzing the type, number, capacity and speed of elevators will also be briefly reviewed to better explain the process of modelling elevator systems. We’ll also discuss some of the common pitfalls and mistakes made during preliminary design development as it relates to elevator systems.
