Since 2007, MABELLEarts has been working to transform MABELLEpark from an abandoned thoroughfare to a vibrant artpark and community centre without walls.
Working with LGA Architectural Partners, MABELLEarts engaged residents in an innovative consultation process, fostering trust and nurturing long-term relationships . The resulting design seamlessly integrates with its surroundings while offering a myriad of enriching experiences.
The 2181 square metre (half-acre) park will include ample seating, lush gardens, and the Belle, a sculptural beacon and an open-ended structure that can be used for an array of functions. More than just a physical space, MABELLEpark embodies a commitment to fostering social cohesion and community well-being through creative expression and collective engagement.
The presentation will tell the story of the collaborative design process, and reflect on the transformative power of collaboration and imagination to strengthen and enrich the lives of individuals and the community.
Note: This session is being submitted for OAA, ARIDO and IDCEC accreditation.
